Shaker Cinnamon Bread

2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 each eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, soda, baking powder, and salt, and set aside for later use. Cream butter and sugar. Beat until light. Add eggs, beating until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture, alternately, with buttermilk. Add vanilla. Mix until well blended. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Spoon half of batter into well greased loaf pan. Sprinkle 3/4 cinnamon sugar mixture over batter. Cover with remaining batter. Top with remaining cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake 50-60 minutes, or until done.Cool completely before slicing. Wrap in plastic wrap until ready to serve.
