Shaker Country Ham

1 each country ham
1/2 cup whole cloves
2 cup brown sugar, divided
1 cup vinegar
1 1/2 each gallons of water
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Scrub ham and soak in water over night. Sprinkle 1/4 cup whole cloves in bottom of roaster, and place ham in roaster. Sprinkle remaining whole cloves over top of ham. Add about 1 inch of water to roaster. Put 1 cup brown sugar, and vinegar, around ham. Bake at 375 degrees, for 1 hour. Reduce heat to 275 degrees, and continue cooking, 20 minutes per pound. Remove ham from roaster. Bone if desired, and trim if necessary. Combine remaining cup brown sugar, cornmeal, ground cloves, and cinnamon. Sprinkle ham with prepared cornmeal mixture. Brown ham in oven at 375 degrees.
