Shaker Nut Bread

2 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 each egg, beaten
1 cup nuts, chopped
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Mix dry ingredients and nuts together. Combine egg, apple sauce, and oil. Add apple sauce mixture to dry ingredients, and stir until well blended. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees, 50 minutes.
Yield: 12 servings
