Shaker Sour Dough Starter

1 pkg active dry yeast
1/2 cup luke warm water
2 cup flour
2 tablespoon sugar
2 1/2 cup luke warm water

Mix all ingredients. Place in stone crock or mixing bowl and beat well. Cover with a towel, and let stand in a warm, draft free place, for 2 days, until starter bubbles and foams. Store in refrigerator. Do not use a screw top cover for storage container. Foil or a loose fitting top should be used to cover starter in refrigerator. The night before making bread, Feed dough by following directions from SHAKER FEEDING SOUR DOUGH STARTER, and then make SHAKER SOUR DOUGH FRIENDSHIP BREAD.
