Shaker Tiny Apple Turn Overs

1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter
2 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon cold water
8 tablespoon chunky apple sauce
1 each egg white

Combine flour and salt. Cut butter into flour mixture, until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle in water. Mix lightly with a fork until flour is moistened. Form into a ball that clings to bowl. Do not over work dough. Roll out on floured board, and cut into 8 4 inch circles. Place apple sauce, which has been seasoned to taste with sugar, cinnamon, or rose water, in center of circle. Fold crust over and seal edges with fork. Brush with slightly beaten egg white, and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 450 degrees, 15 minutes.

Yield: 8 servings
