STRAWBERRY CAKE-PIE: Easy Egg Pastry Crusts)

1 pkg frozen strawberries, 10oz
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, 1/2 stick
2 tablespoon light corn syrup
1 pkg white cake mix
1 each pie crust, 9 inch

Place unbaked pie crust in pie plate. Flute edges high. Set aside. Drain thawed strawberries, reserving syrup. Measure 1/2 cup of strawberry syrup and set aside. Disguard remaining syrup. In medium sauce pan combine, sugar, butter, reserved strawberry syrup, and corn syrup. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbley. Cook and stir 1-2 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Stir in strawberries. Cool to luke warm. In mixing bowl, prepare cake mix (1 layer size), according to package directions. Pour cake batter into unbaked pie shell. Pour strawberry sauce evenly over batter. Bake at 350 degrees, 40-45 minutes. Cool at least 1 hour before serving, or chill for later use. Serve with ice cream if desired.
