Strawberry Jam

5 cup crushed strawberries
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon butter
7 cup sugar
1 pkg sure jell
Pour crushed berries in to 4 quart pot. Add 1 box Sure Jell, 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/2 t butter. Bring mixture to full rolling boil over high heat stirring frequently. Quickly add sugar, all at once, to fruit. Bring to full rolling boil again and keep stirring constantly for 1 minute longer. Remove from heat. Skim off foam. Fill prepared jars quickly to with in 1/8 inch of top. Adjust lids and rings. Invert jars 5 minutes then turn jars upright. After one hour check seals. Water bath method may be used if desired. Yields about 8 cups of jam.
