Baked Custard

2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 each eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Scald milk, sugar and salt. Pour slowly over eggs. Add vanilla. Beat until custard is well blended. Pour into baking dish or individual molds. Place baking dish or molds in pan containing 1/2 inch hot water in bottom. Bake at 325 degrees, 30-40 minutes or until custard is set. To test, insert knife in center of custard. If custard does adhere to knife it is set and ready to remove from oven. Chill.
