Texas Brownies

2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
2 each sticks butter
1 cup strong coffee
1/4 cup dark cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 each eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

In a large mixing bowl combine flour and sugar. Set aside. In heavy sauce pan combine butter, coffee and cocoa. Stir and heat to boiling. Pour boiling mixture over flour mixture. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into well greased 17-1/2 by 11 inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 400 degrees, 20 minutes or until tests done in center. While brownies bake, prepare vanilla frosting if desired. Frost brownies while warm. Cool and cut into 48 bars.
