Tomato Soup

1 large can tomato juice

1 small can crushed tomato (optional)

1 large can tomato soup (or 3 small cans)

1 small chopped onion

1 stick butter

3 tablespoons flour

1 quart fat free half and half

1 14 oz can low fat condensed milk

3 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper

fresh basil

 

Heat butter in sauce pan until melted. Add chopped onion, and cook until tender. Add flour and cook until mixture forms a thick paste. Add tomato juice and stir until well blended. Add all other ingredients. Simmer, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot.

 

Yield: 12 servings
