Whole Cranberry Sauce

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 pkg fresh cranberries, 12oz
Combine sugar and water in a medium sauce pan. Stir to dissolve sugar. Heat to boiling, boil 5 minutes. Reduce heat, and add cranberries and boil gently about 10 minutes, or until skins pop, about 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Serve sauce warm or chilled. Makes 2 cups. To prepare sauce for mold, cook about 10 minutes longer. Sauce is ready to remove from heat when small amount jells on cold plate. Pour sauce in 4 cup mold and chill until firm.
