Snowflakes
1 cup water
3 cups white bread flour
2 tablespoons dry milk
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon fast rise yeast
Prepare the dough using your bread machine's dough cycle. On
a lightly floured work surface, divide the dough into 8 pieces. Roll each piece
into a 6? circle. Dust both sides of each circle with
flour. Fold each circle in half and then in half again. Use a scissors to cut
out small pieces of dough. Unfold the snowflake onto a lightly greased baking
sheet. Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes. Remove to wire racks. Brush warm
snowflakes with melted butter, when cool dust with powdered sugar.
Try this recipe for making snowflakes - a twist on the
traditional paper ones you fold and cut-using bread dough in place of paper.
After snipping the snowflake you bake it and simply dust it with powdered
sugar. Snowflakes are a sweet crunchy treat that are great with cider or hot
chocolate after skating or sledding.
