1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
6 eggs
10, 1 inch thick slices French Bread, cut into 1 inch
cubes
1 3 oz pkg cream cheese cut into
1/2 inch cubes
1 cup, fresh or frozen blueberries
1/2 cup chopped pecans.
Grease a 9-13 inch baking pan and set aside. Slice French
bread and cut into cubes. In a large bowl, combine flour, milk, sugar, vanilla,
salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and eggs. Beat until smooth. Add bread cubes to mixture
in bowl and gently stir until all bread is thoroughly coated. Pour bread
mixture into prepared pan. Top evenly with cream cheese, blueberries and
pecans. Cover and chill in refrigerator, up to 24 hours. When ready to bake,
heat oven to 400 degrees. Bake uncovered, for 20-25 minutes or until golden
brown. When ready to serve, drizzle top with butter
and sprinkle with powdered sugar. If desired, serve warm maple syrup on the
side.
