Brownie Mix

5 cup sugar
3 cup flour
2 cup cocoa
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
3 1/2 cup solid crisco shortening

In large mixing bowl stir together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening till mixture resembles coarse meal. Do not over blend. Store in air tight container, up to 6 weeks at room temperature. For longer storage place in freezer. To measure, pack brownie mix into measuring cup. Level,with spatula. Makes about 7 1/2 cups packed brownie mix; enough for 5 single recipes of brownies.

Yield: 60 servings
