Buttermilk Salad Dressing Mix

1 cup powdered milk, or buttermilk
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
4 teaspoon minced, dried, onion
2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt

Place all ingredients in mixing bowl and combine. Store in air tight container. To serve, combine 2 tablespoons dry salad dressing mix, and 2 tablespoons cold water. Mix well. Add 1/2 cup mayonnaise. If using powdered white milk instead of powdered buttermilk, also add 1 teaspoon lemon juice. Mix thoroughly. Chil for at least 30 minutes before serving, to allow flavors to blend.

Yield: 10 servings
