CORNY SAUSAGE CASSEROLE (Italian Sauce Mix)

1 lb sausage
1 each onion, chopped
1 can crushed tomatoes, 16oz
1 cup italian sauce
1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup cornmeal
3/4 cup parmisan cheese
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
3 tablespoon cooking oil
1 each egg, beaten
1 cup shreaded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoon parsley

In large sauce pan, cook sausage and onion, until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off excess fat. Stir in tomatoes, Italian Sauce, and mushrooms. Bring mixture to a boil. Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in large bowl, stir together, flour, cornmeal, parmisan cheese, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in center of dry ingredients. Add milk, cooking oil, and egg all at once, stirring to thoroughly mix. Spread in bottom of ungreased 9 by 13 inch baking dish. Spoon meat mixture on top. Bake at 400 degrees, for 20 minutes. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese and parsley atop, and bake an additional 5 minutes.
