Cranberry Rum Sauce

1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 pkg fresh cranberries, 12oz
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup nuts, chopped
3 tablespoon rum

Combine water and sugar in a medium sauce pan, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Add cranberries and return to a boil. Gently boil cranberries for 10 minutes with out stirring. Pour into a medium glass mixing bowl. Gently stir in raisins, nuts, and rum. Place a piece of plastic wrap directly on sauce. Cool to room temperature and refrigerate. Best served at room temperature. Makes about 3 cups.
