French Toast Strata

4 cup french bread, cubed
1/3 cup raisins
1 pkg cream cheese, 3oz
3 each eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Spray 11-7 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Cut day old French or Italian bread into 3/4 inch cubes and place in even layer in bottom of prepared dish. Cut cream cheese into 1/4 inch cubes. Sprinkle raisins and cream cheese evenly over bread. Beat eggs in mixing bowl until blended. Add milk, 1/2 cup maple syrup, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Pour egg mixture evenly over bread mixture in baking dish. Cover, and refrigerate at least 4 hours, or over night. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sugar and cinnamon in small mixing bowl, and sprinkle evenly over bread mixture. Bake uncovered, 40-45 minutes, or until puffy, golden brown, and knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into squares and serve with additional maple syrup if desired.
