Green Beans

1 quart green beans
4 each strips bacon, diced
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Drain liquid off beans, and save liquid. Set beans aside. To reserved liquid, add bacon pieces, onion, salt, and pepper. Cook over medium heat until onion is clear and tender. Add beans and heat thoroughly.
Yield: 5 servings
