Herb Stuffing Mix

breads, main dish, vegetables

15 each slices bread
2 tablespoon dried minced onion
2 tablespoon parsley
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon sage
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoon cooking oil

Slice day old, white or whole wheat bread, into 1/2 inch cubes. Spread bread cubes evenly in large shallow baking pan. Toast bread cubes at 300 degrees, 40-45 minutes, or till golden, stirring once. Remove from oven, and cool slightly. In large mixing bowl, combine bread cubes, dried minced onion, parsley, garlic salt, sage, and pepper. Drizzle oil evenly over all. Mix thoroughly. Store in air tight container. Makes 10 cups. Herb Stuffing Mix, also doubles as crispy seasoned croutons. Use them to sprinkle atop your favorite salad, or to float in hearty soup or stew. When a recipe calls for Herb Stuffing Mix crushed, the cubes should be measured before crushing.
