Home Style Dill Pickles

1 quart sliced dill pickles
1/2 cup cider vinegar
2 cup sugar
2 tablespoon mixed pickling spices

Drain juice from pickles, then Return pickles to jar. Combine vinegar and sugar, and add to pickles in jar. Tie spices in a cheese cloth bag, and add bag to pickles. Cover and let stand at room temperature, gently shaking jar occasionally till sugar dissolves, about 4 hours. Refrigerate at least 4 days before serving. Remove spice bag after 1 week if desired. Makes 1 quart.
