JELLO: LUCIOUS LEMON POKE CAKE

1 pkg white cake mix
2 cup boiling water
1 pkg lemon gelatin, large
1 each tub cool whip, 8oz

Bake cake in 2 9 inch layers, and cool completely. Place cake layers, top sides up, in 2 clean 9 inch cake pans. Pierce cake with a large fork at 1 half inch intervals. Stir boiling water into gelatin in a medium bowl, until completely dissolved. Pour 1 cup of gelatin over 1 cake layer. Pour remaining gelatin over the second cake layer. Refrigerate for 3 hours. Dip 1 cake pan in warm water for 10 seconds. Unmold onto a serving plate. Spread with about 1 cup of cool whip. Unmold second cake layer, and place on first cake layer. Frost top and sides of cake with remaining cool whip. Refrigerate at least 1 hour, or until ready to serve. Decorate as desired.
