JELLO: MERRY CHERRY HOLIDAY DESSERT

1 1/2 cup boiling water
1 pkg cherry gelatin, large
1 1/2 cup cold water
1 can cherry pie filling, 21oz
4 cup angel food cake cubes
3 cup cold milk
2 pkg vanilla pudding, small
1 pkg cool whip, 8oz

Stir boiling water into gelatin in a large bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water and cherry pie filling. Refrigerate about 1 hour, or until slightly thickened. Place angel food cake cubes in a 3 quart serving bowl, and spoon gelatin mixture over cake. Refrigerate about 45 minutes, or until set but not firm. Pour milk into a large bowl. Add both boxes of pudding and beat with a wire wisk for 1 minute. Gently stir in 2 cups of cool whip. Spoon pudding mixture over gelatin mixture in large bowl. Refrigerate for 2 hours, or until set. Top with remaining cool whip, and garnish as desired. (If cherry gelatin is not available or desirable, any other red flavored gelatin may be substituted).
