JELLO: MITT CAKE

desserts

1 pkg yellow cake mix, 2 layers
1 cup cold milk
1 pkg chocolate pudding, small
1 pkg cool whip, 8oz
1 single chocolate sprinkles
1 single string lickerish
1 single jello jigglers

Prepare cake mix as directed on package. Pour 2 cups batter into a greased and floured 1 quart oven proof bowl. Pour remaining batter into greased and floured 9 inch round cake pan. Bake at 325 degrees, 50 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes, then remove from pan and bowl. Finish cooling on rack. Cut cake from round cake pan to form a catcher's mitt, by cutting out and slightly separating a piece of cake to form the thumb of the mitt. Pour milk into medium bowl. Add pudding mix, beat with wire whisk until well blended, 1/2 minutes. Fold in 2 1/2 cups cool whip. Spread pudding mixture over sides and top of 9 inch layer. Use remaining cool whip to cover bowl shaped cake. Place over 9 inch layer, to form the "ball", in the "Mitt." Decorate with chocolate sprinkles and liquerish to resemble mitt and ball. Chill cake until ready to serve. Arrange star shaped jigglers around cake.
