AUTUMN STEW: (Stew Meat Mix)

1 1/2 cup stew meat mix
1 cup apple cider
1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon thyme
2 each carrots, peeled, quartered
2 each potatoes, peeled, quartered
1 each onion, sliced
1 each rib celery, sliced
1 each apple chopped
1/3 cup cold water
3 tablespoon flour
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

In large saucepan, combine stew meat mix, cider, 1 cup water, and thyme. Cover, and cook over low heat, 15 minutes. Break meat cubes apart with fork. Add Potatoes, Carrots, onion, celery, and apple, to mixture. Cook 30 minutes, or till vegetables are tender. In small bowl combine 1/3 cup cold water and flour. Stir into stew. Stir in salt and pepper. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly, cook and stir, 1-2 minutes longer. Ladle stew into bowls.

Yield: 4 servings
