Pilgrim Pumpkin Bars

4 each eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup oil
2 cup canned pumpkin
2 cup flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
2/3 cup butter
3 1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoon hot water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease and flour a 9 inch by 13 inch baking pan. Beat together eggs, sugar, brown sugar, oil, and pumpkin; mix well. Add, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and flour. Beat thoroughily. Add raisins, and nuts. Pour batter into pan. Bake 35 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool, and frost. Cut into 1 inch by 3 inch bars. Makes 54 bars. To prepare vanilla frosting: Melt butter over low heat until brown. In large bowl, beat together powdered sugar, browned butter and vanilla. Add hot water, beating until frosting is smooth enough to spread.

Yield: 54 servings
