Roll Out Biscuit Dumplings

1 each egg
1 teaspoon water
1 cup flour
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon butter

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Using spoon, make a well in center of mixture. Add water, softened butter, and egg. Mix well, until dough holds together, forming a ball. Turn dough onto floured surface. Roll to one quarter inch thickness. Cut dough into strips. Then cut each strip into rectangles. Drop dumplings, one at a time, into boiling water or broth. Cover. Cook 10 minutes or until dumplings rise to the surface of cooking liquid.
